Father's Day Gift Ideas
Share some of the most creatively frugal Father’s Day gifts you’ve
ever given, received (if you are a dad) or heard of.
"I once saw an 'executive bib'
advertised in The New York Times Magazine section. For a
fraction of the cost, I bought gray pinstripe material and made
my father a man-sized bib out of it. It was the best gift I ever
gave him. For over 25 years he has worn it to the table when he
is dressed in a suit or other good clothes. It has saved many a
silk tie and expensive blazer from getting stained. He's 82 and still
using it." ~ Alene
"For Father's
Day last year I put together a small album for my husband. All the pages
are decorated in a similar pattern, simple and masculine. I put in a
picture of our son and one of our daughter. Then under each photo the
kids and I wrote some favorite things they like to do with their dad and
they signed their names. Each year I plan to do the same thing."

"I look for nice picture frames in thrift stores,
garage sales and consignment shops. I then stockpile them throughout
the year. Last year I gave my Dad a recent picture of his
granddaughter (I took myself) and put it in the very nice frame. All
of that only cost me about $1!" ~ Suzie
"My niece and I planted an Italian herb garden in a large pot for
her dad who is the family chef. He will love cutting his own herbs to
use in his culinary creations!" ~ Candy
